Tengku Abdullah: FAM won't hesitate to take action against trouble makers
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) will not hesitate to take drastic action against anyone creating trouble during football matches in the country.
FAM deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah (pic) said the FAM views crowd trouble or fighting among fans very seriously because such incidents can tarnish the image of the country.
"I am worried that the trend (fighting among fans) will end up as a big loss to the country. We want to focus on football development and quality, including the standard of refereeing and safety at stadiums.
"To create trouble is easy but it will not portray a positive image. I hope such incidents will stop because we will take drastic action as deemed fit," he said after opening the 2014 Enduro Challenge at Taman Tasik Burung Mandi, Kamahang Hilir, Benta, near here Sunday.
Last Friday, fans from Pahang and Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) were involved in a clash at the Darul Makmur Stadium after their Super League match.
A number of fans are reported to be injured in the incident.
