U.S., Australia commit $580 million in support for Pacific Islands

Australia and the United States have announced a combined $580 million in funding for Pacific Island nations as both countries compete with China for regional influence. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Canberra will provide a $430 million package to combat drug smuggling.
