Singapore which is still in talks with Malaysia on the reopening of border for daily commuters, has preliminarily confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 infection in the past 24 hours.

With the latest infection cases, it brings the total tally for the republic to 57,665.

In its brief data released here today, the republic's Ministry of Health (MOH) said there were two imported cases who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Based on its investigations so far, the ministry said there were no cases in the community.

The ministry said it was still working through the details of the cases and further updates would be issued tonight.

In the full data released late last night, the ministry revealed that out of 15 cases reported yesterday, 13 were asymptomatic, and were detected from its proactive screening and surveillance, while two were symptomatic.

The MOH classified 1,034 of the reported cases as imported, 2,244 as community cases and 54,376 involving dorm residents.

The ministry said 57,333 cases had fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

A total of 28 confirmed cases remain hospitalised but none in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, 266 patients who have mild symptoms or clinically well but still tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and being cared for at community facilities.

To date, 27 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 in the republic.

While no new clusters were identified yesterday, a cluster linked to a dormitory at 15 Kaki Bukit Crescent has been closed as there have been no more cases for the past two incubation periods of 28 days.
