Katy Perry drops fiery Olympics anthem

POP star Katy Perry has unleashed a fiery Olympics anthem in the form of a track entitled "Rise", her first new music release since 2013's "Prism".

The song, which features lyrics such as "victory is in my veins" and "I won't just survive, you will see me thrive", was released via Perry's 90 million-strong Twitter account at 11pm ET on Thursday (July 14).

The new track is available exclusively to stream on Apple Music and to download on iTunes.

Commenting on the track, Perry said the song had been "brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface. I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite" (via Billboard).
