TRUCK were seen entering the LSA Endurance facility on Monday (August 10). The facility is meant to provide logistical support and act as a staging facility for the International Stabilization Force (ISF), near the Israel-Gaza border in the Kerem Shalom area in southern Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu restated his rejection of Donald Trump's latest Gaza plan in televised remarks to his right-wing government on Sunday, even as Israel's military has effectively halted attacks in the territory under pressure from the U.S. President.
Trump announced last month that there had been a breakthrough in his plan to end the war, to which both Israel and Hamas agreed, with Israeli forces withdrawing as Hamas disarms and an International Stabilization Force working with a new Palestinian police force to secure the enclave.
Hamas endorsed the roadmap but protested when the Board of Peace later posted on X that it should give up light weapons such as guns and that Israel would only withdraw once disarmament was complete. The roadmap's text calls for the two to be linked, in phases.
Despite the impasse, the board of peace continues to set up the base near Kerem Shalom, with diplomats saying that the ISF is months away from deployment.
