ChatGPT dominates AI industry traffic, most popular throughout 2023

A study by digital research company SEMrush found that the average traffic in the AI industry also surged to 3.3 billion in the last six months.

The study also mentioned that the usage of OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot dominated the overall AI industry percentage.

The usage rate of ChatGPT in the past year successfully captured 60 percent of the total traffic compared to other AI groups.

According to the SEMrush report, analysis was conducted on 3,000 AI tools in the market.

"To analyze data from over 3,000 AI tools, focus was given to the top 50 tools most frequently visited, contributing to over 80 percent of industry traffic between September 2022 and August 2023," the statement said.

Meanwhile, ChatGPT has emerged as the leader, garnering 14 billion significant visits, representing 60 percent of the analyzed traffic.

At the same time, AI character applications and Google Bard also witnessed a substantial increase in traffic, with 1.8 billion and 68 million visits, respectively, according to the report.

On the contrary, Craiyon, MidJourney, and Quillbot faced a decline in traffic during the same period.

The United States significantly contributed to AI industry traffic, with 5.5 billion visits, forming 22.62 percent of the overall total, and European countries collectively contributed 3.9 billion visits.
