AI Brief
- SPIEF 2025 merges with major science forums to foster collaboration between scientists, startups, investors, and government.
- The Innovation Space will spotlight co-invested tech firms and leading Russian high-tech companies with cutting-edge solutions.
- Key highlights include a new personalised cancer therapy and expert discussions on tech sovereignty and digital transformation.
“We are integrating the scientific community into SPIEF, the country’s premier business forum, to foster an environment where scientists, engineers, businesses, and government can initiate genuine collaboration. This approach is transforming the Innovation Space from a mere discussion platform into a practical tool for business. On one side, we are focusing on attracting investors and major corporations interested in innovative technological solutions. On the other, young scientists and startups will have a unique opportunity to showcase their projects and secure resources for further development and scaling,” says Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov.
A distinctive aspect of SPIEF 2025 will be the Innovation Space’s debut presentation of companies in which it holds co-investor status. These include Pragmacore, a cloud-based platform designed to manage investment and construction projects; Genmaster, a next-generation energy company; and Hyper, a developer of electric vehicle charging solutions.
As in previous years, the Innovation Space will also feature leading players in Russia’s high-tech sector whose products and services play a key role in supporting the country’s technological sovereignty. Notable participants include Positive Technologies, Aquarius, the Digital Economy Consortium, the Moscow Innovation Cluster, the Skolkovo Foundation, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, MTS, Power Machines, ER-Telecom, NexTouch, and Geoscan, all presenting their latest innovations.
The St. Petersburg Federal Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences together with the Institute of Immunology and Physiology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences will present a personalized cancer therapy strategy based on an in-depth analysis of the molecular structure of tumours using advanced information technologies. In the future, this will make it possible to convert an aggressive form of cancer into a manageable chronic disease, like diabetes or coronary heart disease.
The Innovation Space lecture series will feature around fifteen discussions covering key areas of scientific and technological advancement. Experts will discuss topics such as the future of the venture capital market, strategies for ensuring technological sovereignty, and the digital transformation of industries. Additionally, a special session titled “Victory in Space and Time. The Role of Science in the Great Patriotic War” will be held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, celebrated in Russia in 2025.
