Thai Customs seize rhino horns worth 10 mln baht at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Thai Customs detained two China nationals at the busy Suvarnabhumi Airport, here, yesterday and seized eight rhinoceros horns worth about 10 million Baht (RM1.25 million) from their luggage.

The two men were detained at 6.30pm while transiting at the airport from Zambia using an Ethiopian airline.

"The men were supposed to continue their journey to Cambodia on Thai Airways after transiting at Suvarnabhumi Airport before their luggage were discovered to contain packages of the illegal stuff," said Thai Customs in a statement here, today.

The eight rhino horns seized yesterday weigh about 6.2 kg.

According to the statement, Suvarnabhumi Airport Customs had confiscated 38 rhino horns worth 204 million Baht (RM20.5 million) since 2014.
