3 more MRT routes for people in Lembah Pantai
Three more Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) routes will be opened in Lembah Pantai to accommodate the 400,000 population and socio-economic development of the area.
Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister, Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said the three routes are Pantai Halt, Taman Bukit Angkasa and Kampung Abdullah Hukum.
"The technical report has been completed and just need to be approved by the Economic Council and the Cabinet," he told reorters after launching the groundbreaking ceremony for Masjid Al-Khadijah Pantai Dalam and opening of the new 1.2 hectares cemetery on wakaf land contributed by Amona Group of Companies.
Nong Chik said the MRT service does not pass through Pantai Dalam but he appealed for opening of the routes because of rapid development in the area. On the construction of Masjid Al-Khadijah, he said the project which will cost RM15 million is expected to be completed in two years.
"With an area of 34,276 square feet, the mosque can accommodate 3,000 Muslims for prayers.
"It is part of Pantai Sentral Park project approved by the government and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL)," he added.
