KUALA LUMPUR : The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Malaysia hosted a memorable celebration at the JW Marriott Hotel to honor Bahrain’s National Day and the 50th anniversary of its diplomatic ties with Malaysia.

The event highlighted Bahrain’s rich cultural legacy, visionary leadership, and its commitment to fostering global partnerships.

The celebration commenced with a warm reception for notable guests, including The Honorable Datuk Ewon Benedick, Malaysia’s Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, and The Honorable Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Bahrain. Bahrain’s Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al-Manea, expressed heartfelt gratitude to attendees for being part of this significant occasion.

During his address, Dr. Waleed emphasized Bahrain’s rich history as an Arab and Muslim nation, established in 1783 by Ahmed Al-Fateh, and its remarkable progress under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted key milestones, such as Bahrain’s leadership in economic freedom across the Middle East and North Africa and its strides in global digital innovation.

The evening also celebrated the enduring partnership between Bahrain and Malaysia, which began in 1974. Dr. Waleed underscored the mutual respect and shared values that have shaped this relationship and expressed optimism about further expanding collaboration across various fields in the future.

Guests were treated to a presentation showcasing Bahrain’s history and its diplomatic milestones with Malaysia. The program included a traditional Bahraini performance, Al-Jalwa, reflecting the nation’s vibrant culture, as well as an exhibition illustrating Bahrain’s heritage and development achievements.

On the international front, Dr. Waleed reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. He called for the implementation of a two-state solution, advocating for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international resolutions. He also stressed the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging for civilian protection, the release of hostages, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

Dr. Waleed further highlighted Bahrain’s contributions to fostering Arab and international cooperation on the Palestinian issue. He noted Bahrain’s efforts, including hosting Arab summits and supporting education and healthcare initiatives for communities affected by conflict.

In closing, Dr. Waleed reiterated Bahrain’s dedication to promoting dialogue, sustainable peace, and human rights, along with its steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause. He expressed hope for continued unity and progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
