Cracks in Jalan Tun Razak, but road still safe for use
Kuala Lumpur City Hall official said the road was still safe for use.
Cracks have been detected on the road surface near Wisma Perkeso in Jalan Tun Razak here, but according to a Kuala Lumpur City Hall official, the road was still safe for use.
Its director of Civil Engineering and Drainage, Tan Keng Chok, said the cracks could have been caused by the Sungai Bunus re-alignment project from Kampung Baru to Jalan Tun Razak currently being carried out.
"Information from the consultant engineer of the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) confirmed that the road heading towards Jalan Kuching is safe for road users," he said when contacted by Bernama Sunday night.
According to Tan, the cracks were first detected three days ago.
"City Hall has asked the DID and its consultant to submit a report on the stability of the structure and road," he said.
A Kuala Lumpur DID spokesman, meanwhile, also said the road was safe for use.
However, he added that the consulting company, Ikram Premier Consulting, had been asked to conduct further checks.
