Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will start the sales of tickets in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri from Monday (May 29) at 10am.
KTMB Operations and Development senior manager Saimi Abdullah said some 174,720 tickets are available covering 40 Electric Train Service (ETS).
He said it involved the sales of 87,360 tickets before Hari Raya for travelling between June 18 to 24 while 87,360 tickets are for the period between June 27 and July 3 (after Hari Raya).
A total of 30,240 tickets are also available for the Intercity coach services involving Ekspres Rakyat Timuran and Ekspres Southern from June 18 to July 3.
"We will increase the number of tickets and coaches if there is a demand from the public,'' he told reporters after officiating the Ihya Ramadan KTM Berhad 2017 programme here Friday.
Meanwhile KTMB Human Resources Department general manager Hilmi Hasan said KTMB will distribute 1,000 packs of dates and 500 food packs for breaking the fast to commuters every Friday.
"In conjunction with Ramadan, KTMB also serves some special dishes for those breaking the fast in the ETS train such as fried chicken kandar rice, chicken kurma rice and fried satay rice," he said. - BERNAMA
