The Magistrate's Court today sentenced a security guard to four months' jail for having beaten up his wife over a misunderstanding on the first day of Aidilfitri last Friday.
Magistrate Nur A'minahtul Md Nor passed the sentence on Faizal Sohani, 40, after he admitted to causing hurt to Zalinah Kamaruddin, 40, at their flat in Sri Pantai, Pantai Dalam, Brickfields, at 11am on July 17.
The court ordered Faizal to serve the sentence from July 19, the date of his arrest.
According to the facts of the case, Faizal had beaten up Zalinah after she had asked him about the expenditure on raya clothes. She suffered bruises on her arms.
Faizal then confined Zalinah to the house but she was freed by their eldest son on Sunday.
