JBPM buys RM50 million worth of assets to face floods this year
Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department has spent RM50 million to buy assets this year in the event of floods during the monsoon season.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has spent RM50 million to buy assets this year in the event of floods during the current monsoon season.
Its director-general Datuk Wan Mohd Nor Ibrahim said the assets bought included lorries (100), four wheel drive vehicles (100), aluminium boats (50) and generators (50).
"All the assets have been distributed nationwide especially to JBPM stations facing the risk of flood disasters (in their respective areas).
"The additional assets is based on needs following the flood situation last year," he told reporters after opening the national-level 2015 Fire Safety Campaign at the compound of a supermarket here, Saturday.
Currently, JBPM owns 200 lorries, 250 four wheel drive vehicles and 650 aluminium boats.
