PASIR PUTEH:Kelantan is seeking an allocation of more than RM500 million under the 2021 Budget to develop the agricultural sector in the state.

State Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Biotechnology, Green Technology and Environment Committee chairman Tuan Mohd Saripudin Tuan Ismail said the allocation would be for the implementation of 61 projects that would benefit 30,000 farmers.

“A large portion of the allocation is to develop infrastructure and improve existing projects, including upgrading of the Fisheries Port in Tok Bali, he said when met here today.

He said the projects also included large-scale pineapple farming and planting of pandan and matag coconuts.

The state government, he said, also plans to promote planting of the musang king durian, especially in Hulu Kelantan, and expand the freshwater fish farming project in the Aquaculture Zone in Tok Uban, Pasir Mas.
