The mysterious face of the North Korean suspect in the death of Kim Jong-nam was identified today when the media managed to snap his photographs after waiting for hours at the Sepang District Police headquarters today.
The opportunity to snap the photos came about when the 47-year-old suspect, Ri Jong Chol, who was clad in lockup attire, was being taken back to the lockup at the police headquarters building.
Jong Chol was taken out of the lockup at around noon, believed for questioning purposes, before being taken back to the lockup four hours later.
Jong-nam, the elder half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was at the klia2 at 8am to catch a flight to Macau when he was attacked by two women, one of whom covered his face with what was believed to be a poison-laced cloth.
Jong-nam, who carried a passport bearing the name Kim Chol, reportedly died on the way to the Putrajaya Hospital.
One of the women is a Vietnamese who carried a passport bearing the name of Doan Thi Huong, and the other is an Indonesian with the name of Siti Aishah. Both of them had been arrested in connection with the case.
Also captured the media's attention were the arrival of a Toyota Alphard bearing the North Korean Embassy's registration plate at the Sepang IPD at 4 pm.
Two individuals travelling in the vehicle were seen entering the police headquarters building and left half an hour later without talking to any members of the media. - BERNAMA
