Madonna Taps Gucci

Madonna kicked off her Rebel Heart Tour at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. She will reveal the custom-made and outstanding outfits that have been created for her and her dancers by Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s Creative Director.Alessanndro Michele says, “It has been a marvellous experience and a great gift collaborating with Madonna. Now that I have had the chance to see her working, I truly understand why she is so grand! I believe she is a true artist and I am crazy about her.”

The outfit Madonna will be donning onstage complements her bold and at times controversial and statement-making style. Her gypsy-inspired get-up features a lurex-lace-and-jacquard bodysuit with an embroidered belt, lace short sleeves, plus a black crêpe de Chine ruffled skirt topped with a shawl with silk fringes and embroidered patches. To accessorising her outfit are lace gloves, a hat with silk flowers on it, and high-heeled knee-high lace-up leather boots.

Madonna’s dancers wore matching Gucci patchwork bodysuits with a mix of ruffles and multi-coloured trimmings, and embroidered belts. Teamed with multi-coloured floral headpieces, lurex shrugs featuring pleated ruffles on the sleeves and multi-coloured silk flowers. It’s remininscent of Madonna in full-blown “La Isla Bonita” mode, an enigmatic gypsy wrapped in her fringed manila shawl, hiding behind her flamenco hat, lace and jacquard bodysuit and colourful skirt.
The Rebel Heart Tour will visit 20 cities in North America and 16 cities in Europe and the UK through the end of 2015 with additional concert dates in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Asia already confirmed for 2016.
