Malacanang providing legal assistance to terrorist suspects
Malacanang Palace is preparing to provide legal assistance to the eight Filipino men who were charged in Malaysian court although there was a doubt on the nationality status on the suspects.
According to Philippines media, Inquirer Glocbal Nation, the deputy presidential spokeperson Abigail Valte was reported saying that Malaysia government have insists that the eight suspects are Filipino and due to that they have allowed Philippines Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to have access on them.
On Friday, spokeperson for the Sulu ‘sultanate’, Abraham Idjirani claimed that the suspects that were charged in court for terrorism and waging war against Yang diPertuan Agong are not Filipino but Malaysian.
While on Thursday, President Aquino had directed the Philippines Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to provide all the legal assistance to their countrymen who were charged in court.
“We need to provide them with legal assistance regardless any if we believed on their cause or not,” said Aquino.
