PADANG BESAR: The "Merdeka Keluarga Malaysia@ Padang Besar" Carnival is one of the "gifts" by the government in appreciation of the contribution and support by the Malaysian Family (Keluarga Malaysia) in Perlis, said Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin.
"Thank you to the people of Padang Besar and Perlis for always giving their support and cooperation to the government, especially in the effort to curb the spread of COVID-19," he told Bernama when visiting the "Jom Kenal Bernama" both here today.
Present to greet him at the booth was Bernama Head of Broadcasting (TV and Radio) Arul Rajoo, who took the opportunity to brief the deputy minister on the services provided by Bernama as the national news agency.
Zahidi, who is Padang Besar Member of Parliament, said the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia is actively involved in disseminating information on COViD-19, including advising the people on health care, vaccination and to wear the face mask.
"Alhamdulillah, it gets the full support of the people and their contribution to helping the government should be appreciated," he said.
He said various interesting programmes were prepared for the Malaysian Familyat the carnival, including exhibitions by government agencies, E-Sports, creative industry performances and the "wayang pacak".
