Brickfields police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said at about 6.30pm, the mutilated body of a woman, believed to be an Indonesian, minus her head, hands and legs, was found in the septic tank.
The woman, believed to have been murdered, could have been left inside the septic tank for about two to three weeks.
"We received a report from residents living nearby that a bad odour was emanating from the bungalow. Upon inspection, police found the mutilated body of a woman, believed to have been murdered," he told Bernama when contacted, here on Thursday.
Muhammad Azlee said following the gruesome find, police have detained eight men, all Bangladeshis, to assist investigations because police have yet to establish the motive for the murder.
