Main water treatment plants in Selangor and the federal capital will experience electricity disruption following maintenance works at the main entry substation in Bukit Badong, Hulu Selangor on Monday (Dec 19).
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), in a statement, here today said the maintenance works are carried out once every three years to prevent any power supply disruption at these water treatment plants.
"The installation of the arc protection system will be carried out on the same day as preventive measure against any sudden or unplanned power trip.
"The maintenance works were planned in advance by TNB (from Sept 27) and Dec 19 was decided in a meeting held by SPAN on Oct 31," said the statement.
The maintenance works are expected to take 16 hours which will be divided into two work scopes - scheduled maintenance and installation of arc protection. -- BERNAMA
