RapidKL extends LRT and bus services

RapidKL will extend its rail and bus services to 12.30 am and 1 am respectively in conjunction with the 2013 National Ponggal Festival at Dataran Merdeka this Saturday.

In a statement here today, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said the main stations involved were Masjid Jamek and Bandaraya to Ampang, Masjid Jamek to Kelana Jaya and the Hang Tuah monorail station.

Ten bus routes including six from the Pasar Seni hub were U66 to Taman Medan, U68 to Sri Manja/Sentosa, U70 to Puchong Prima, U74 to Pantai Hill Park, U88 to Kota Damansara and U224 to Taman Dato' Senu, Sentul.

The four other RapidKL routes are U6 from Medan Pasar to Taman Jasa Utama, U22 from Jalan Hang Lekiu to Sri Nilam, U23 from Lebuh Ampang to Taman Melawati, and U40 from Sinar Kota to Terminal Kajang.

An estimated 100,000 people are expected to participate in the festival, which is being held for the first time.
