Refer to JKM website for information on nursery childcare aid

Parents seeking to obtain the Nursery Childcare Aid which was announced in the 2014 Budget, can refer to guidelines on the Social Welfare Services Department (JKM) website at www.jkm.gov.my.

Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun told Senator Datuk Jaspal Singh at the Dewan Negara on Wednesday, that parents could obtain detailed information such as qualification and registered nurseries under the programme from the website.

In a supplementary question, Jaspal had asked how the target group under the programme could obtain its information in detail.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, when tabling the 2014 Budget, had announced a RM250 monthly aid for parents earning below RM900, who wanted to send their children to private nurseries registered under JKM.

Azizah said the programme was aimed at assisting 3,344 children of targeted families for 2014.

She said this year, 1,042 nurseries were registered under JKM and this had exceeded the early target of 1,000 nurseries.
