Rohingya graves: Six foreign suspects identified

The police have identified six suspects comprising Myanmar and Thai nationals to facilitate investigations into the discovery of mass graves of what was believed to be those of ethnic Rohingyas in Wang Kelian, Perlis in May.
They comprise a woman, believed to be Thai, and five men who might still be in Malaysia.
SAC Goh Kok Liang, who is heading a special team probing into the case, said all suspects were identified based on information gathered from questioning about 30 witnesses, the majority of whom were locals and several Rohingya refugees at the Belantik detention depot in Sik, Kedah.
"However, I welcome the public to channel whatever related information to us to facilitate investigations.
"But the suspects are not masterminds in the case. We found they were merely lower ranking members...we believe they were food suppliers or sentries," he told Bernama when contacted.
He believed the information from statements of the six suspects could lead the police to the prime suspect.
In May, security forces found 106 remains of human trafficking victims, believed to be ethnic Rohingyas from Myanmar, at several mass graves in Bukit Wang Burma, Wang Kelian.
On Wednesday, international media agencies reported that 88 individuals, including a senior Thai general were charged in court in Bangkok for alleged human trafficking in Thailand.
