Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar denied claims by Philippines rebel leader Nur Misuari who accused Malaysia of being involved in kidnappings in Sabah.
"That was his claim. However, Nur Misuari's people kidnapped our citizens. He should be the one keeping an eye on on his people. Why are we being blamed instead?," questioned Khalid in response to the accusations.
Nur Misuari, who heads separatist militant group Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), claimed that Malaysia is behind the kidnapping for ransom in Sipadan, Sabah in 2000.
The rebel leader said he has evidence for his claims and will not hesitate to bring the case before the International Criminal Court.
