Selangor Sultan's consort proclaimed Tengku Permaisuri Selangor
With the proclamation, Norashikin is now addressed as DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has conferred the title 'Tengku Permaisuri Selangor' on his consort Norashikin Abdul Rahman, effective yesterday.
Selangor Council of the Royal Court secretary Hanafisah Jais, in a statement today, said with the proclamation, Norashikin would be addressed as Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
He said the sultan also conferred Norashikin the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS) award, which carries the title 'Datin Paduka Seri'.
The decision to confer the titles on Norashikin by the sultan was made after a meeting with the Selangor Council of the Royal Court yesterday, the statement said.
Sultan Sharafuddin married Norashikin on Aug 31 at Masjid Istana DiRaja, Istana Alam Shah, Klang.
The marriage solemnisation was performed by Selangor Mufti Datuk Mohd Tamyes Abdul Wahid.
