Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will give away special lanterns to his 'Ah Jib Gor' Facebook page followers in conjunction with the Moon Cake Festival on Sept 27.
"In conjunction with the meaningful festival, we have designed a special lantern and will give it away for free," according to the statement in Mandarin posted on the Facebook page Friday.
Each follower who "Like" the idea would be given two lanterns and all they need to do was to leave their name, home address and email address on the page.
Najib said the Moon Cake Festival was one of the important festivals for the Chinese community and that he wished each one of them to have a happy Moon Cake festival.
The Chinese community around the world celebrate the Moon Cake Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar.
The festival is also known as the celebration of unity as the round shape of the full moon symbolises completeness and unity.
