Public Education & Advocacy Lead for Dengue Prevention Advocacy Malaysia (DPAM) Dr Koh Kar Chai said while a certain level of vaccine hesitancy is to be expected, people should have more trust in it since it has been approved by the Ministry of Health.
"This vaccine has undergone proper timeframe for development.
"People should have trust in it. Back during COVID-19, it was a different scenario as people were dying. It had to be used then.
"However, this vaccine had been given time to go through research and studies and went through adequate stages of development," he said during an interview in Consider This.
Other guests featured during the session were Public Health Medicine expert from the Faculty of Medicine at UKM Professor Dr Sharifa Ezat Wan Puteh and Acting Director for Southeast Asia, Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) Vanessa Daniel.
