Three wooden houses in Jelutong razed in fire

A fire razed three wooden houses in Jalan Madrasah, Jelutong here last night.
However, no casualties were reported as the families managed to escape in time in the 9.25pm incident.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said when firemen arrived, the terrace houses were completely burnt.
Hayati Abu Hassan, 53, a victim, said the houses were occupied by her extended family including three of her children who were deaf.
"We escaped with the clothes on our backs. It is going to be a bleak Aidilfitri for us," she told reporters at the scene.
