Transfer of two MACC officers cancelled
Their return was given tremendous welcome by MACC staff, the source said.
The transfer of two senior Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers to the Prime Minister's Department last week has been rescinded, a source told Astro AWANI.
The two officers, Special Operations Division director Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and director of its Strategic Communications Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob reported to work this morning at about 10am.
Their return was given a tremendous welcome by MACC staff, the source said.
The two were earlier scheduled to hold a meeting today with Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal and Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa to discuss their transfers.
Bahri was among the prominent figures involved in the investigation into accounts belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd, an entity linked with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
He had also been very vocal on the arrests of several senior MACC officers since last week.
The transfer letter from the Public Service Department (JPA) reportedly stated that the two were transferred over 'disciplinary problems'.
Meanwhile, Astro AWANI's reporter Harits Asyraf Hasnan reported that media are now camped outside the MACC's office in Putrajaya.
