Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said it would ensure that the water supply would be distributed efficiently to the affected areas namely Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, after the affected plants resumed their operations.
It said the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, 2 and 3 would not be fully operational on Monday due to the maintenance work.
"The three water treatment plants will be partially operated using generator capable of supplying between 50 and 60 per cent electricity. Therefore, the supply of treated water will not be sufficient," it said in a statement.
A total of 814 areas in the Klang Valley involving 3.89 million users will be facing water supply disruption due to maintenance work on Monday.
Consumers are advised to store adequate supply to last during that period, said the statement.
They could request for water supply by sending SMS to 15300 by typing : TANKER
The latest information on work to restore water supply could be referred to www.syabas.com.my, smart phone application 'mySyabas', or Facebook 'Air Selangor'.
Meanwhile, TNB in a separate statement said the maintenance work at the substation was a preventive work carried out every three years to avoid future disruption of electricity supply.
It said the arc protection system would be installed on the same day as a preventive measure against any sudden power outages. -- Bernama
