KUALA LUMPUR: Areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling and Hulu Langat are expected to experience a scheduled water supply disruption on Oct 10 (Tuesday) from 9 am following the implementation of asset improvement and maintenance work at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
Acting chief executive officer of Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) Abas Abdullah said water supply is expected to be fully restored at 12 noon, Oct 12 (Thursday).
"These works are expected to be completed at 7pm, 10 Oct (Tuesday). Water supply is expected to resume in stages after the improvement and maintenance works are completed and when the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised.
"The duration of interruption and restoration of water supply in the affected areas is different depending on the distance of the location of the user's premises and the pressure on the water supply distribution system," he said in a statement today.
He said that following that Air Selangor will mobilise water tankers to the affected areas by giving priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals.
Therefore, he advised the affected users to store enough water supply and use water prudently during the period of the scheduled water supply interruption.
He said for commercial customers, treated water supply can be purchased at any Air Selangor customer service counter in the affected region.
"For this purpose, commercial customers can use their respective water tankers at the two water filling stations which will be opened at Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara," he said.
Users can also obtain information regarding these scheduled water supply interruptions from time to time through our official communication channels such as the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or call Air Selangor on 15300.
