Woman charged with murdering own mother

A woman was charged at the magistrate's court here Friday, with committing matricide.

Teng Lye Choo, 44, was said to have murdered her septuagenarian mother at a shophouse in Jalan Sentul last week.

According to the charge, Teng, who is unemployed, was accused of killing Ong Kok Mui @ Wong Pek Lin, 74, on July 25.

The offence was said to have occurred at No: 774F, Jalan Sentul here on July 24, this year between 8am and 10.38am on July 25.

The charge was read before magistrate Noorasyikin Sahat. However, no plea was recorded.

The court fixed Sept 30 for mention of the case while awaiting a forensic report.

Ooi Chean Ling appeared for the prosecution while Teng was unrepresented.
