Malaysia's challenge in the Australia Open championship has ended after mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying lost in the semifinals at the Sydney Olympic Park today.
They lost to Chinese pair Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong easily in straight sets 15-21 and 12-21, which was telecast live.
Several mistakes by Peng Soon/Liu Ying in both sets awarded valuable points to their opponents, who are currently ranked 10th in the world.
In their three encounters, Peng Soon and Liu Ying still failed to overcome their opponents, including in the French Open and Korean Open last year.
