KAFA awaits sponsorship funds to settle players' arrears
ROSMADI: We hope the sponsors who have been identified will assist the association quickly with the amount of sponsorships agreed earlier.
The Football Association of Kelantan (KAFA) is waiting for sponsorship money from several sponsors to settle the back wages of five players who played for them last season.
KAFA vice-president Datuk Rosmadi Ismail said they were also making financial arrangement so that the players can continue to play in the Malaysia League this season.
"We hope the sponsors who have been identified will assist the association quickly with the amount of sponsorships agreed earlier.
"Apart from the sponsors, we are still trying to find other suitable sources to help finance the team this season," he said when met here, today.

On May 3, Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) CEO Kevin Ramalingam urged the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to deduct points from Kelantan if KAFA failed to settle the wage claims of five former players before May 31.
The five former players are Ahmad Fakri Saarani, Amar Rohidan, Muhammad Nazri Ahmad, Amiridzwan Taj Tajudin and Mohd Fitri Omar, who had terminated their contracts with KAFA and joined other teams this season.
Commenting further, Rosmadi said at the moment KAFA was depending on sponsorships to continue operating the association.
KAFA would appeal to FAM if it failed to settle the back pay of the five players and at the same time it would try to pay according to the schedule.
