Eighteen fighters will vie for championship titles at the Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) Season 4 in their respective categories this Saturday (Oct 8).
The MIMMA4 Grand Finals, scheduled to held at Stadium Negara, will feature nine bouts of Malaysia’s best amateur MMA talents selected through an almost yearlong process.
The fighters have fought since the ladder match, and now set to battle their opponents to emerge as this year’s MIMMA champions.
“They will battle it out for a taste of glory and amateur MMA’s ultimate gold in this region, the Tune Talk Malaysian Invasion MMA Championship title belt.
“The #MIMMA4 Grand Finals will be an explosive conclusion to the tournament, which has successfully produced champions who have transitioned to become successful professional MMA fighters like Agilan Thani, Keanu Subba and Muhammad Aiman,” said Tune Talk in a statement, Tuesday.
Six out of the nine champions from last year’s season will be defending their titles this year.
Among the highlights of the night would be the clash between MIMMA heavyweight champion Darren Low (Sabah) and Tsan Nieng Khai (Negeri Sembilan), Flyweight Champion Seah Zhang Yu (Penang) and Eddey Kalai (Sabah), and Welterweight Champion Gino Tan (Penang) and Theeban Govindasamy (KL).
Besides that, three more bouts of feature fights - veteran vs new, Malaysia vs Indonesia, and Palestine vs USA will also be included in the card.
MIMMA is the brainchild of Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and Tune Talk CEO Jason Lo with the objective of developing the MMA scene in Malaysia by focusing on the grassroots level in order to create a stronger base for the sport locally with the hope of one day producing a world champion.
