Top Asian MMA promotion ONE Championship now has kickboxing league

Started off with mixed martial arts (MMA), ONE Championship has now established another world class event -- the ONE Championship Kickboxing league, featuring local and international talents from around the world.

The league, scheduled to debut in Manila, Philippines this April, aims to provide the world's best martial artists a prestigious global platform to showcase the beauty of Asia's striking arts such as Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, Silat, Lethwei, and many more.

ONE Championship CEO, Chatri Sityodtong said Asia has been the home of martial arts for 5,000 years and it is time for them to showcase Asia's striking arts to fans around the world.

"Featuring the best martial arts talent across the globe, ONE Championship Kickboxing aims to showcase Asia's striking arts front and center as part of our ONE Championship live events," he said in a statement.

Among those who have signed with ONE Championship Kickboxing are multiple-time Muay Thai world champions Petchboonchu FA Group, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, Yodsaenklai Fairtex, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, Singtongnoi Por Telakun, former ONE strawweight world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, Sagetdao Petpayathai, Kwankhao Mor Rattanabandit, Yodcherry Sityodtong, and also international superstar world champions Giorgio Petrosyan, Fabio Pinca, Alain Ngalani, Regian Ersel, Sergej Maslobojev.

"Some matches will be under standard international kickboxing rules in our ring, and other matches will be under modified hybrid striking rules in our cage.

"This is a game changer in the world of martial arts, and I am excited to kick things off this April," Sityodtong said.

ONE Championship Kickboxing was created to showcase the adrenaline-pumping action of world-class kickboxing on the world’s biggest and most prestigious stage of authentic martial arts competition.

The event will be launched at ONE: HEROES OF HONOR on 20 April at the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila.
