The Future Is Female: Changing How We Treat Pain

Pain is one of the most universal human experiences, yet it is often dismissed and under-treated, especially in women. On this episode of #TheFutureIsFemale, Melisa Idris speaks with Dr Mary Suma Cardosa, a consultant pain management specialist who has spent decades changing how Malaysia understands, measures, and treats pain. She was the first female President of the Malaysian Medical Association, and past president of the Malaysian Association for the Study of Pain, to which she still serves as an advisor. She is currently the president-elect of the International Association for the Study of Pain, the first Asian person to hold the position.
