AG's Chambers to decide action against Australian duo

The Attorney General Chambers will decide on the appropriate action to be taken against the two Australian nationals arrested for trying to breach the security control of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak last night.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the duo who claimed to be journalists from the Australia Broadcasting Corporation would also be investigated.
"I can confirm two people have been arrested because they defied police orders.
"We will discuss with the AG's Chambers to charge them for obstructing a public servant from obstructing his duty," he told reporters when met at a hotel here today.
He said the Australia duo's action was improper as the Prime Miinister's programme was not an interview or media conference session.
Last night Najib attended the leader-meet-the-people session at Masjid Darul Ehsan Kampung Haji Baki, Padawan.
He said the duo had been released on police bail this morning and must stay in the state while the investigation was being carried out.
Khalid said any media whether local or international should maintain ethics while conducting their duties.
"Security control for the Prime Minister is the police's task. So we do not want anything untoward happening to him," he said.
