Civil servants: Improve productivity, skills in line with salary hike

Civil servants are advised to improve their skills to ensure the best services are given to the people.
Public Service Department Director-General, Datuk Seri Zainal Rahim Reman said each service execution should meet the needs of the people, thus producing a high quality human capital.
“We need to create a human capital that is the best, of high quality, agile and meets customers’ expectation.
“Every members of the civil servants should get ready to improve their expertise and skills
“Therefore, when submitting for a salary upgrade scheme, it is tallied with the knowledge that we have,” he said during his speech in conjunction with Labour Day 2017 organised by Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) here today.
Civil servants should also scrape any narrow mindset especially when executing a work with a sense of individualistic.
“Civil servants should scrape any narrow mindset. Many times, there are among us that like to work separately or go ‘stylo’.
“Instil the spirit of unity and teamwork among us so we will improve our standards,” he said.
Also present was Cuepacs president Datuk Azih Muda and other senior leaders.
At the ceremony attended by more than 500 congress members, several awards were also presented to agencies, trade unions, statutory bodies and local authorities.
