KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA) has attracted an estimated RM5.8 billion worth of potential investments in the 18th week of Expo 2020 Dubai, held in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between Gading Kencana Sdn Bhd and Saudi Arabia's March Global LLC involved a potential investment worth RM4.22 billion.
"The MoU is for the development of large-scale solar projects in the Middle East, Africa and the Asian region, which are expected to generate investments worth RM4.2 billion.
Additionally, business matching sessions between local companies that were part of the KeTSA delegation and foreign companies resulted in RM1.6 billion worth of potential investments.
Meanwhile, the ministry said during the week, Concord Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd had also launched the 'Concord Biogas Cube Scrubber System', a product that could generate energy from biogas sources.
It added that 13 Malaysian companies from the energy and natural resources sector had taken part in the expo during week 18, which focused on the theme 'Sustainable Energy and Natural Resources'.
