KUALA LUMPUR: For Oscar-winning Indian music composer AR Rahman, Malaysia will always have a special place in his heart.
Rahman says he gets overwhelmed and highly motivated by the love and support from his fans in Malaysia.
"Any human being doesn't have the same state of mind, sometimes low self-esteem or depressed, and when I feel as such, I will think of my Malaysian fans and get motivated," said the music composer dubbed as the 'Mozart of Madras'.
He said this in Tamil when answering a question from Rahmaniac Malaysia, Malaysia's officially registered fan club of AR Rahman, during a press conference here recently to promote his mega concert `AR Rahman - Secret of Success - Live in Malaysia 2023' scheduled to be held at the Stadium Bukit Jalil on Jan 28.
The Indian music superstar who stole the hearts of millions around the world with his melodious tunes is set to perform in Malaysia after a gap of six years.
"My first show in Malaysia was back in 1996 when I was still new in the industry, yet I received tremendous support even then.
The music composer and singer is no stranger to the Academy Awards, winning two awards in 2009 for Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire. He had also composed music for the biopic "Pele:Birth of a Legend", the story based on the football legend from Brazil who passed away recently.
