RMP ready to send DVI team to Reunion Island
Khalid said the PDRM also welcomed any country that wishes to cooperate with the Malaysian police in the investigations.
The Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) is ready to send a disaster victims identification (DVI) team to Reunion Island to assist investigations into the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 accident, according to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
"We are all ready now to move as soon as we discover where the aircraft is. What is important now is we wait for further report from the researchers and all the parties that conduct the search.
"Once they locate the aircraft and once we could access the aircraft we are ready to move on," he told reporters after attending the IGP Cup Friendly Golf Tournament 2015, Saturday.
Flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing carrying 239 passengers and crew, disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014.
On Aug 6, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak confirmed that the flaperon found on Reunion Island was from the MH370.
Meanwhile, Khalid said the PDRM also welcomed any country that wishes to cooperate with the Malaysian police in the investigations.
"China or anybody who would like to contribute their DVI to work together with us, we welcome them," he said.
