US embassy flag at half-mast in honour of Jamaluddin

The US flags at its embassy in Kuala Lumpur is flown at half mast today as a mark of respect for the late Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis who died in a helicopter crash in Semenyih, Selangor on Saturday.
Following a post on its Twitter account, the US embassy recgonised Jamaluddin’s role in strengthening the relations between the US and Malaysia.
US Ambassador to Malaysia, Joseph Y. Yun in post on Twitter lauded Jamaluddin citing him as 'dedicated in his efforts to rejuvenate and strengthen bilateral relations during his tenure as Malaysian ambassador to the US.'

Yun also said that Jamaluddin played a crucial role in materialisin both governments' desires to enhance the existing relations with his innovative ideas, creativity, energy and vision

The site also highlighted an image of the US President Barack Obama with Jamaluddin which boasted a caption that read: President Barack Obama with Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, the former Malaysian ambassador to America.
Yun also extended his condolences to the family members and close friends of those who perished in the Semenyih tragedy.

Jamaluddin, who was the chairman of Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA), and Azlin, who was the principal private secretary of the prime minister, and the four other people were flying back from Pekan, Pahang, to Subang, Selangor, when the AS3655N2 Dauphin (9M-1GB) helicopter went down in a rubber smallholding in Semenyih at 4.55 pm.
The four other people have been identified as the pilot, Capt Clifford William Fournier; operations assistant Aidana Baizieva; Jamaluddin's bodyguard Razakan Seran and businessman Datuk Tan Huat Seang.
