Younger generation must master Science and mathematics - Fadillah

The younger generation must master Science and Mathematics in order for Malaysia to become a successful and innovative nation in the eyes of the world in future.

Gagasan Pendidikan Melayu Malaysia (GAGASAN) president Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the two subjects were very crucial for Malaysia to maintain its image as a producer and not merely a consumer nation.

Fadillah, who is also Works Minister, said Gagasan as a non-government organisation sought to boost students' knowledge in the two subjects via several programmes.

"This is in line with technology advancement which is constantly evolving, and to achieve this, we need to focus on the effort.

"Gagasan, which realises this, takes the approach of planning numerous programmes, among others, a Science and Mathematics Olympiad competition participated by representatives of every state," he said.
