ISN willing to discuss doping issue with Chong Wei - Dr Ramlan
RAMLAN: Chong Wei has my phone number and can call me to discuss things
The National Sports Institute (ISN) is always willing to discuss the doping issue with badminton champion Datuk Lee Chong Wei.
ISN CEO, Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz said they always provide aid to the country's athletes and understands what Chong Wei is going through.
"We are still accessible. He (Chong Wei) has my phone number and can call me to discuss things," he said when met at the concerned athlete programme of the National Sports Council (NSC) here Thursday.
Dr Ramlan was commenting on Chong Wei's statement that he was dissatisfied with the ISN's procedures to rehabilitate athletes involved with doping.
On Chong Wei's doping hearing expected this month, he said the ISN always provide cooperation to ensure that this issue is resolved amicably.
Dr Ramlan said all the parties had given their full cooperation, especially in providing information regarding the issue.
Asked if the ISN was to be blamed, he said: "It is not the Badminton World Federation's (BWF) job to cite ISN for negligence.
"This is something that I will defend. I'm sure the BWF will study all the facts before making a decision," Dr Ramlan said, hoping for the best decision for Chong Wei and the future of Malaysian badminton.
