Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has expressed his family's gratitude to the government for granting a state funeral to his mother Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah.

Mohamed Nazir commissioned the building of Ar-Rahah Mosque at a cost of RM10.6 million on 1.70 hectares of land.

Her remains were buried beside the grave of her sister Tun Suhailah Mohamed Noah, widow of third Prime Minister Tun Hussein Onn, who died on Oct 4, 2014.

The message of Tun Rahah Tan Sri Mohamed Noah should always be practised by the wives in ensuring the success of their husbands and the stability of the household.

The Ruler of Selangor said Tun Rahah, whom he had known since 1968, was the best wife a prime minister and politician could ask for and should be emulated.

Tun Rahah, 87, died yesterday evening at the Prince Court Medical Centre here where she was admitted for treatment.

Tun M said Tun Rahah as among the last from the independence generation who contributed invaluable services and sacrifices to the country.
